Zuhuri Tekke is located in the city centre of Larnaca. Its construction date is not recorded, however from written sources it can be confirmed that it was mentioned in a mid-17th century itinerary. The mosque, which includes a shrine in its south-eastern part, is a single building with two domes at the roof, with a masonry of ashlar stones and different shapes of cut stones, which were used to form the arches and opening frames. It is part of a larger complex which includes the mosque volume, a madrasah (religious school) and elementary school rooms (2 storey), which are adjacent to the south of the mosque.
There are two entrances to the mosque, a main double-leaf door from the north and a single-leaf door from the opposite wall, where the mihrab and the minbar are located. Contrary to the simple mihrab, the minbar is decorated with relief plaster and colours over those reliefs. The women’s gallery is located at the north of the mosque, it is a wooden structure mezzanine, accessed by two cylindrical staircases. Another special element is the portable wooden stand within the mosque. It is made of natural wood with a round table on top.
